Author Analytics

Author Analytics

The author analytics tab lets you compare the impact of the content published by the author. Here are some use cases for the author analytics:
  1. Compare content published from department vs personal accounts
    1. People tend to engage more with content from personal accounts, but this changes from organization to organization
  2. Measure the impact of key people
    1. Content published by key people (e.g. CEO or other leaders) tend to have a higher impact and keep people engaged with the platform
  3. Identify people who often publish that can be a driver for the portal within their circle
  4. If you want to promote user generated content, you can gamify the content publishing by starting a "competition" to see who publishes the most, or who has the most views

These author analytics are made up of a table where each row contains:
  1. The author
  2. The number of articles published by that author, during the selected time period
  3. The views of the articles by that author
  4. The reach, which is the number of users reached by the articles published by that author
  5. The likes given on articles published by that author
  6. The comments posted on articles published by that author

Filtering the author analytics

At the top, you have three filters to refine your analysis:
  1. Time interval - this will filter all the data to only include the interactions that have happened during the time interval chosen.
  2. Filter by publish date - this will only display data for the articles published within the specified time interval.
  3. Filters button - this opens up a side menu with one option.
    1. Authors - only includes the selected authors in the table. Use this if you want to compare specific authors head-to-head.

Exporting the author analytics data

By clicking the export button above the table, you can export the information in the detail table, which will generate an Excel spreadsheet with all the information presented.
This will let you create your own reports and analysis on top of this information.
The columns for the exported Excel spreadsheet are:
  1. AuthorId
  2. AuthorName
  3. ArticlesPublished
  4. Views
  5. Reach
  6. Reactions
  7. Comments
